Hubble 3D Brings Tear To Astronaut's Eye

One of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year opens next month. Hubble 3D was shot entirely in space as astronauts repaired the Hubble Space Telescope. They had with them a space hardened IMAX camera that captured the historic mission. As you can read in this →PopSci article, when one of the spacewalkers recently watched some preview footage he was overcome with emotion. We think we all will be when Hubble 3D opens March 19.

Sure, it's already one of the most popular films of all time, but now it may become one of the most honored. James Cameron's Avatar has been nominated for nine Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Visual Effects. Facing Mars Is A Hit!

Judging by the many comments on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere online, our newest exhibit, →Facing Mars is a hit with our guests. Watching them make their way through the 28 interactive exhibits, it's plain to see this exhibition appeals to all ages. When you enter you're asked questions, such as, should humans travel to our neighboring planet? You'll be asked those questions again after you've made your way through. You won't look at Mars the same way again. Entry to Facing Mars is included with the price of general admission - FREE for Pacific Science Center members.

Facing Mars is sponsored by Bing® and is accompanied by a wonderful IMAX film all about the Mars Rovers that have been in the news lately. Roving Mars is now showing and you will see a full-size replica of a Mars Rover as you enter Facing Mars just inside the entrance to Building 4
